Another Walk Please
Maxie: "Wait a minute! What is that over there by the window!?"
Maxie: "You know, it is time for me to take matters into my own paws."
Maxie: "If I can get this on myself, I am sure someone in this house will get the hint!"
Four friends, two old and two new, spend a lot of time together sunning, eating, and pondering the world
Maxie: "Wait a minute! What is that over there by the window!?"
Maxie: "You know, it is time for me to take matters into my own paws."
Maxie: "If I can get this on myself, I am sure someone in this house will get the hint!"
Maxie: "But wait a minute....what do I smell.....?"
Maxie: "What a minute Mama! I don't know how to do this. Don't tug! Don't pull."
Maxie: "I guess this means you want me to come along."
Maxie: "Hey! This isn't so bad! I like it out here!"
Maxie: "Ooooo....another smell."
Maxie: "Wow, there's lots to see out here too."

Maxie: "Cookie is so smart and she was was right! I can still breathe and I didn't burst into flames....a harness is not such a bad thing after all. I think I am going to like taking walks."

Cookie: "You'll see. You should cooperate."

Cookie: "Don't be silly and let Mama put in on you."
Maxie: "I'll bet this has something to do with a bath or some other form of dog torture, I just know it.
Cookie: "It's on now; is it squeezing you?"
Cookie: "You'll see. You are not going to mind it so much when you learn what it is for."
Cookie: "Of course it is. Go over and see what Mama has in her hand now."

Cookie: "Jackie has gotten me into trouble before too. You need to use your head and not get drawn into the moment of the thing. Stick with me Little Girl and remember to mind your manners."

Cookie and Maxie: "Uh oh...."
Jackie: "Ooooo what could it be!? I like ripping up the paper; it makes a nice noise.......Oh! It is a stuffed weener dog!"
Jackie: "I have been wanting one of these!"
Maxie: "Let me see, Jackie. Wow, it's very nice--can I play too?"
Jackie: "Of course, Maxie! It wouldn't be any fun to have a new toy without someone to play with!"
Jackie: "Ready, set...GET HIM!"
Maxie: "Bite him on the head, Jackie!"
Jackie: "Pull Maxie!"
Maxie: "Grrrrrrrrrrr!"
Maxie: "Whip him around Jackie!"
Jackie: "Whew. That was fun. Let's go rest Maxie. Are you tired? Maxie?"

James: "The fun of a birthday is that your friends get to celebrate with you. Everyone gets the treat with their dinner....well, you dogs get the treat on your dinner....I am going to give you my share."
Jackie: "Oooooo here it comes....what could it be?"
Valerie: "That's right, Jackie. You are five years old today! We love you and we want you to have a special day. Tonight there will be something special on your dinner."
Maxie: "I have noticed! I would hate to have a bath every day."
Maxie: "I have noticed that Master Man doesn't have too much hair on his head--do you think he scrubs it too hard?"
Maxie: "Wow. I hope it didn't hurt too much."
Maxie: "I have to admit, I didn't enjoy the bath, but I DID enjoy the shake. I wonder why people don't shake. People get to do whatever they want to."
Maxie: "Rubbing on the living room carpet was really nice. I wonder why people don't do that; maybe they have scrubbed so much of their fur off already, they are afraid to rub more off on the rug....as a matter of fact, people don't even seem to be too frisky after their baths, do they?"
Jackie: "There are some things about people that I will never figure out!"
