Just Right
Cookie: "How is the new bowl working out, little girl?"Maxie: "This is so nice, Cookie! This bowl is just the right size for me."Maxie: "Cookie, how come Jackie doesn't eat in the kitchen with us?"
Cookie: "Jackie eats in her crate."
Maxie: "Why is that? It would be nice for all of us to eat together."
Cookie: "Because Jackie pushes me out of the way and eats my food; Mama thinks she might eat yours before you get any, and then you won't grow. Jackie has to wait in her crate until everyone is done eating."
Maxie: "I do want to grow and be a big dog like you, Cookie. Where do you think this little bowl came from? Do you think it was Jackie's when she was a puppy?"
Cookie: "No, it's the bowl James and Valerie used to keep their hermit crabs' water sponge in."
Maxie: "Oh; I don't really know what a hermit crab is."Cookie: "Well anyway, I am glad they found a better bowl for you to use until you are bigger."
Maxie: "Me too!"
