Responsibilities of the Family Dog - Part II

Adventures with Laundry

Cookie: "Okay, Jackie, what else to do you do, as the family dog.?"

Jackie: "I like to help out with the laundry. The clean clothes smell good. Sometimes when Mama puts the clean clothes on the table, I like to get up there and check it out."

Cookie: "You know that...."

Jackie: "I NEVER stay up there long, I just need to check everything out and make sure it is okay. Besides, those clean clothes are so nice and warm!"
Jackie: "Now dirty laundry is a different story. It isn't warm, but it smells MUCH better than clean clothes."

Cookie: "Yeah, especially dirty socks."

Jackie: "Don't you know it! I like to get right in there and check things out. Also, you never know if there might be something in the laundry basket that doesn't belong.

Cookie: "You mean like a skunk or a cat?"

Jackie: "There could be a skunk or a cat hiding in there. You can never be too careful and I always try to do my best for Mama.

Cookie: "I know Mama appreciates it."

Jackie: "Well, she should. I always check out the stuff she leaves on the back porch going into the machine."Jackie: "Sometimes, I like to spread the dirty clothes around for the whole family to enjoy."

Cookie: "I know they must really like that."

Jackie: "I am so quick, I can usually get the job done before anyone sees me. They think some guardian angel has spread all that stuff around for them. "

Jackie: "I really enjoy being such a helpful dog to this family It is something I take a lot of pride in."
