Responsibilities of the Family Dog - Part I

Jackie: "Annie, I am SO glad you are feeling better. I missed being able to play with you. You did not feel like playing for a long time."
Annie: "It is nice to play with you again."

Jackie: "Well, Cookie, we talked the other night about your responsibilities as a personal dog. That is a big job, but let me say that my job as the FAMILY DOG is a much bigger job."

Cookie: "What! What is it that you do around here, Pup?!"

Jackie: "Well, I help out in a lot of ways. I help out with the dishes, for example. Mama really doesn't need to run the dishwasher, because I take care of it for her."Cookie: "Mama doesn't like you doing that."

Jackie: "I do it when she turns her back and then she is surprised and how clean the dishes are!"

Annie: "Okay, that is one thing, pup, what else do you do?"

Jackie: "I also help out with the dishes in other parts of the house. Say, if a coffee cup gets left on the coffee table, I will go up and clean it up. I can make a cup SHINE!"

Cookie: "Well you do make the cup really clean when you do that."

Annie: "You also make the cup smell like dog breath."

Jackie: "Yes, that is an added benefit to my service. I also clean up any drips around the cup that might get left behind."

Cookie: "Mama doesn't like you on the coffee table."

Jackie: "That's okay; I always get down when I am finished."

Cookie: "I can't wait until tomorrow to hear what else you do."
