Mama's Personal Dog

Cookie: "I am Mama's personal dog. It is a big responsibility, but I do it well."

Jackie: "What is a personal dog?"

Cookie: "My main job is to keep Mama company. I wait for her while she is in the shower. I sit next to her feet while she works at the computer. I sleep on the foot of her bed while she sleeps."

Jackie: "I have to sleep in my crate at night."

Annie: "That, Pup, is because you wander the house and make messes at night."

Jackie: "Well, what's your point?!"

Cookie: "When Mama works at night, she always takes me to her office. I sit on the chair next to her desk and keep watch. Sometimes I have to go downstairs and check to make sure everything is safe."

Cookie: "I hate it when Mama leaves for the day and I can't go. When she leaves I go and get in my bed."

Cookie: "Then I wait by the door and watch until she comes home. "

Jackie: "Sounds like a lot of work."

Cookie: "Well, it has its rewards. Mama gives me tidbits in the kitchen sometimes, and sometimes she lets me lick her ice cream bowl."

Jackie: "I love ice cream! Sometimes I get to lick the kids' bowls!"

Cookie: "That is because you are the family dog."

Jackie: "Oh. It is hard to keep it all straight sometimes!"
