Dog Days of Desert Summer

Cookie: "It's hot. I am so hot."Jackie: "Cookie, what is the matter?"Cookie: "People call these days the dog days of summer. It's because it is too hot to go outside in the yard. It is too hot to do anything."

Jackie: "That is a dumb thing to name a day! I guess it would be okay if you gave a dog some chicken to eat on a 'dog day.'"


Cookie: "I didn't name the kind of day. I am just saying it is too HOT!"Cookie: "I would feel so much better if Mama would take me to get this coat shaved off."

Jackie: "I have some good news for you....."
